IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT A PROPOSED SARATOGA LAKE PROJECT

A Significant Malta Town Board meeting will be held Monday night (June 27th) at 6:00 PM at the Town Hall to discuss a planned development district on Saratoga Lake.  PLEASE ATTEND THIS MEETING IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE FUTURE OF SARATOGA LAKE.  Please see the three documents below for more information.  To protect Saratoga Lake we need a good turnout at this meeting. Please attend if you can and make a difference.

The South Shore Marina Presentation will be on the agenda for Monday night. The attached letters were also delivered by hand this afternoon to the Town Board. Please share this information with your friends and neighbors. We will need a strong turnout of people willing to speak for only a minute or two to send a message to this town board which appears poised to approve this despite the flaws in this application.

 Thank you.

ABOUT US

The Sierra Club Hudson-Mohawk Group was founded in 1974 and has been dedicated to preserving, protecting and helping our members enjoy nature. Our territory covers the fourteen county area of the Capital District of New York State, centered in Albany-the Capitol of New York State. The Hudson-Mohawk Group, consisting of over 4,000 members is a subset of the Sierra Club Atlantic Chapter which is the statewide organization, also located in Albany. We are all organized under the National Sierra Club which is headquartered in Oakland, CA.

We have many conservation issues in which we are directly involved and others in which we play a supporting role. This provides our members with many volunteer opportunities for involvement in one way or another. This includes such actions as communicating with lawmakers about proposed legislation, contacting and educating other Sierra Club members about activities and getting involved at the ground level to protect natural areas such as forests, wetlands and bodies of water.

We update this site continually to accommodate our many members, keep you informed and hopefully get you involved in our activities to Explore, Enjoy and Protect the Planet!

There are a number of virtual only activities going on in the Capital District due to the Coronavirus pandemic of course. Check out our Green Calendar for the latest updates.
